Every maker has a moment where the work stops being just work and becomes something closer to a calling. Mythic didn’t begin with a business plan or a product idea. It began with a lifelong obsession: the pursuit of precision.
I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of engineering and creativity — the place where math meets music, where machining meets artistry, where a thousandth of an inch can change the way something feels in your hand. CNC machining, 3D printing, digital modeling… these weren’t just tools I picked up. They were languages I learned, each one opening a new way to shape the world.
But the real spark came from something simple: a tin whistle.
Most people see a whistle as a humble instrument. I saw a challenge. Could I take everything I knew — tolerances, geometry, airflow, acoustics — and build a whistle that wasn’t just functional, but beautiful? Could I engineer tone? Could I machine soul?
That question became an obsession.
I spent months experimenting with bore diameters, fipple angles, labium edges, and material choices. I machined prototypes, tested them, rejected them, and started again. I learned how tiny changes — fractions of a millimeter — could shift the entire personality of the instrument. I learned how to balance precision with feel. And eventually, I built a whistle that made me stop and think:
This is it. This is the sound I’ve been chasing.
That moment became Mythic.
Today, Mythic is more than a shop. It’s a place where engineering and artistry meet. Where every whistle is machined with intention. Where every product is built with the same mindset: if it isn’t precise, it isn’t finished.
I’m not trying to be the biggest maker. I’m trying to be the most deliberate. The most thoughtful. The most exacting. Mythic is built on the belief that craftsmanship still matters — that people can feel the difference when something is made with care.
This is just the beginning. I’m excited to share more of the process, the experiments, the failures, and the breakthroughs. If you’re someone who appreciates precision, creativity, and the quiet magic of making things well, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Mythic.
